The Challenge
The number of faculty, staff and students who drive to the university has significantly increased significantly in recent years. This has led to problems on campus, such as noise and air pollution, traffic congestion,and a lack of parking spaces. As a result, the university decided to construct car park buildings at the four corners of the overall campus areas to achieve the following:
- Reduce vehicle traffic within and around campus
- Reduce CO2 emission on campus
- Reduce noise pollution on campus
- Promote moving about campus by walking and cycling.
- Provide ncreased parking for those who commute by car.
There is one car park building near my daughter’s school. It makes things much more convenient and safe.

The university has constructed car park buildings at four corners of the campus
– Car Park Building 1 – Chamchuri 9: located at the south-western corner of the campus with 691 parking spaces available
– Car Park Building 2 – located at eastern corner of the campus, close to the Faculty of Arts, with 556 parking spaces vailable
– Car Parking Building 3: located at the south-eastern corner of the campus, close to the Faculty of Political Science, with 558 parking spaces available
– Car Park Building 4 – located at the north-eastern corner of the campus, between Chulaphat 13 Building and the Faculty of Sports Science with 546 parking spaces available
People can commute from the car park buildings to various campus locations as well as popular attractions around the university such as Siam Paragon, Siam Center, MBK Shopping Center, Pathumwan Princess Hotel and Supachalasai Stadium, by walking, cycling or the free shuttle bus service.

The Result
The car park buildings have solved the lack of parking spaces and has also reduced traffic on campus. Not only do they enhance the campus atmospher, they make the university a safer place.
The car park buildings are so helpful. I ordinarily park at one and then take the shutter bus. I can go anyplace I want. I can also walk under the covered walkways or under the shade of the trees. I like walking around campus as there are a lot of trees.

With the completion of Car Park Building 4, all four facilities are expected to serve the current demand for parking spaces.The university is also planning to construct more car parks for the CU community to meet future requirements.
I like them. I don’t have trouble finding a parking spot any longer abd then there are lots of ways to get to work and around the university.
Chanisara TangkijmongkolI park my car and take the shuttle, which is quite comfortable and convenient. I also like the idea that I’m helping to reduce traffic on campus.
