Architecture Project

The Challenge

The Architecture Project – Landscape Master Plan – focuses on constructing a healthy and lasting campus environment. Land has been allocated for the construction of new facilities and infrastructure to improve the transportation system while the uiversity is also concentrating on improving vehicles to reduce emissions.

CU has integrated this project with the concept of Green Axis to increase the perimeters of green landscapes on campus and maintain a sustainable natural environment l.

The Method

The university has implemented a series of procedures for this project:

1. Study the overall campus plan to create a balance between greenery, infrastructure and architecture

2. Plan and construct green landscapes within the Green Axis, including plants, trees, water resources and irrigation systems.

3. Establish an effective and sustainable traffic plan to minimize air and noise pollution.

4. Increase areas covered by trees and construct more foot paths and bicycle lanes to reduce traffic congestion within the university.

5. Plant big trees spaced at 100 square meters / tree to provide shade, reduce global warming and improve the campus ecosystems.

6. Plant a variety of trees for educational and research purposes.

The Result

The implementation of the Architecture Project Landscape Master Plan has made the concept of ‘Green Axis’ more tangible with improved university environments and ecosystems.

Next Step

The university will expand the Green Axis conccept and develop more green landscapes within the campus. New green areas will be constructed, playground, fitness area, group meditation sites for faculty and their families, students, staff, guests and the general public.
