Green Landscape Renovation Project

The Challenge

The university has been expanding and creating new green landscapes on campus by planting local trees and foliage in addition to building new and renovating old buildings to achieve the following goals:

To improve campus’ environment
To become a Green University
To enhance the learning environment for the students
To contribute in improving the city’s ecosystem



The Method

The renovation project employs the following method:

1. Expand green landscapes by building more gardens and courtyards
2. Preserve trees and perennial plants
3. Plant more trees with the emphasis on local species
4. Construct greenhouses to create environments for certain plant species
5. Renovate old buildings and convert obsolete facilities to green landscapes

1. The old Satit Chula School was renovated into Pharot Racha Garden House.

2. Old swimming pool was renovated into Chakrabongse Courtyard.

The Result

The university has successfully constructed 15 gardens and nine courtyards to enhance the campus’ environment. With the new Chuan Chom dormitory, student residents are afforded a much greener and healthier environment in which to live.

15% of campus areas are filled with grasses and flowers.

Next Step

The university will continue to increase its green landscapes by constructing more gardens and courtyards. By 2020, the university intends to have at least 50% of the campus covered in greenery.
